SOUTH AUSTRALIA- PETES FISH FARM-PART FIVE

THURSDAY 4/10/2012

We left Kadina at 12.30. We took photos at Paskerville.

We stopped at Boliver for a couple of hrs to wait for the traffic to die down and met up with Deb and John.

FRIDAY 5/10/2012

We left at 9.50am. Our first tank ran out 80kms from Penola, 30kms from Naracorte.

We met up with Pete on Pete’s Fish Farm where we will be staying and working. We helped Pete with his chores. He has sheep,lambs,rainbow trout and yabbies.

SATURDAY 6/10/2012

Kiera and I fed the chooks and let them out collected the eggs then put them back in at night. We also feed the lambs twice a day by bottle. We also let the dogs of their lead.

We also met Kay today.

SUNDAY 7/10/2012

Today was a very busy day for us. All 5 of us rounded the sheep and lambs up. We docked the tails, gave them vitamin shots. Then put the lambs back with their mums and left them a while to settle down. Then they went back in their paddock. We have another 2 lots of lambs to do. We done 175 lambs today. Kay brought us fish and chips for tea. Kiera was very good today.

MONDAY 8/10/2012

Kay went to work today and Dave helped Pete and Kiera and I done our jobs. We went for a drive to the local dairy (Jeff) and saw the milking and Kiera patted 3 bull calf's. We took photo’s.

Dave done the yabbies on his own today and helped gutter fish and smoke them. Dave got a call to work on the orchid to help with the reticulation .

SATURDAY 20/10/2012

We went fishing and caught 700 rainbow fish to go in the tanks. We saw 2 red and black belly snakes when we done the yabbies. Kay looked after Kiera. Dave had to jump start the tractor. I took the fish out of the tank by net into the waiting ponds. Kay and Pete also have 3 lama’s, and 3 sheep dogs named minnie mouse, bam bam and pebbles.

We accepted a job today in NSW and we are leaving Pete’s fishing farm tomorrow.
